Chris Jericho was born into a sports-oriented family, with his father, Ted Irvine, being a professional ice hockey player. Jericho trained at the Hart Brothers School of Wrestling in the early 1990s, debuting in Ponoka, Alberta, before wrestling in Japan and Mexico under the names Leon D’Oro and Corazón de León.
