Ambrose began his wrestling career on the independent circuit, competing for organizations such as Heartland Wrestling Association, Insanity Pro Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling, and Dragon Gate USA. During his time in WWE, Ambrose achieved significant success, winning the WWE World Championship, the United States Championship, and the Intercontinental Championship twice.
