Nick Aldis, the WWE SmackDown General Manager, has a unique opportunity to make some significant announcements on the upcoming episode of SmackDown before Saturday Night’s Main Event. As he looks to build on the blue brand’s momentum and create surprises for the audience, Aldis could have some tricks up his sleeve to shake things up in WWE.

One potential bombshell Aldis could drop is the arrival of a former Universal Champion. Braun Strowman, a massive star with a wealth of experience, could return to the brand, breathing new life into the division. This would be a huge get for Aldis, allowing him to make a statement and give the fans something to get excited about.

Another possibility is that Aldis will book a top-level tag team match featuring the Bloodline, a faction led by Solo Sikoa that has been wreaking havoc on SmackDown. After their recent loss at Survivor Series: WarGames, the Bloodline has been on a rampage, targeting Andrade and LA Knight while sparing the United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Aldis could put an end to their antics by booking a match between the two babyfaces and the evil duo.

Nick Aldis could also address the ongoing rivalry between the two factions by announcing the date for SmackDown’s New Year’s Revolution. This special episode of the show will take place on January 3, 2025, and could feature some PLE-level matches. Aldis could reveal that the show will follow a similar format to the one used in 2024, allowing fans to look forward to some major title defenses and grudge matches.

Lastly, Aldis might announce the first match for DIY, the new WWE Tag Team Champions, which could be a Triple Threat Tag Team Match against The Street Profits and Motor City Machine Guns. This would give the champions some time to breathe while making the first episode of SmackDown in 2025 a must-watch affair.

With these possibilities on the table, it’s clear that Nick Aldis has his work cut out for him as SmackDown’s General Manager. He has the opportunity to create some incredible surprises and make a lasting impact on the WWE terrain. The question is, what will he choose to do?
